There has been some confusion about using beneficial pond bacteria was when do I start? Some say 40, 50 or 60 degrees but we created a special formulated blend that works all seasons. Once the snow and ice have melted and the over flow has slowed down you can start treating your pond and not worry about what the water temp is.
Yes there’s even better news is sizes, both in pond size and water soluble packet size. For the one acre ponds we have 8 ounce packets, 8 packets is one treatment for the one acre pond. Then we break it down to 1 ounce packets for the ½ acre and 1/4 acre ponds. Yes it is a little more time to toss in the extra packets but the pond will receive much better coverage using the ounce packets. Instead of tossing in two 8 oz. packets in a 1/4 acre pond you will be tossing in 16 one ounce packets. Adding 16 ounce packet you can see the greater coverage the pond receives. This gives the pond16 areas for the bacteria to start their colonies and spread throughout the pond. Have a trouble area or beach add a few extra in that location and a little less in other areas, the choice is at your discretion. Simply walk around the pond and toss them in along the edge and a few into the boils from the diffusers if your pond is aerated.

One of the biggest lesson we’ve discovered was it’s not about size but more of the proper dosage and being consistent with the bi weekly treatments.
